• We pull the permit when the job needs one. From the city or from Polk County, whichever covers your parcel.

What Goes on Your Written Estimate

The estimate is where a concrete job goes right or wrong, so we put the details there instead of in a conversation you have to remember. On yours you will see the slab thickness, how the base gets prepared and compacted, what reinforcement goes in (wire mesh, rebar or fiber), where the control joints go, the finish, and the cure and sealer plan.

If an old slab has to come out, tear-out and haul-away get their own line. If the apron crosses the street right-of-way, that work is listed separately too, along with the permit. That way you can hand our estimate and someone else's to a friend and compare them item by item, not just total to total.

Prices come from our posted ranges, like $8 to $14 per sq ft for a broom-finish driveway or patio. The concrete cost guide shows those ranges with worked examples so you know roughly where you will land before we ever show up.

Permits, Locates and the Paperwork We Handle

Around Winter Haven, the address decides who permits the job. Inside city limits it is the City of Winter Haven Building and Permitting Division, which files 2026 and newer permits in Accela, per the city's permits page. Unincorporated places like Cypress Gardens, Inwood and Wahneta go through the Polk County Building Division. We check the parcel before we write your price.

Before we dig for forms or tear-out, we notify Sunshine 811 at least 2 full business days ahead, as s. 556.105 requires, so buried lines get marked. On jobs over $2,500, Florida's lien law applies and a Notice of Commencement is recorded and posted before the first inspection. We walk you through that form so nothing surprises you on inspection day.
